“Before you take me, tell me: what’s it like?”

Death shrugged.

“I DON’T KNOW, I HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED. YOU HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN ME.”

“what? I’ve never been dead.”

“NO, BUT YOU DIDN’T EXIST FOR FOURTEEN BILLION YEARS BEFORE YOU WERE BORN. I’D SAY THAT MAKES YOU AN EXPERT.”

I always think about this sort of point when people are telling me that they can’t imagine no existing, or how scary or terrible it would be to simple not exist (hence they believe in an eternal afterlife). I guess the thing to keep in mind is that not existing isn’t like anything, and you wouldn’t be there to experience how bad it is anyway. Like the times throughout the night when you are asleep but not dreaming, it would be like nothing at all.

P.S. That’s not death yelling, he just has a harrowing commanding voice (Think Christopher Lee with reverb turned up to 11).
